Friend -
Two weeks ago, I emailed you to make sure you were among the first to know that I was moving toward a race for Congress. Since setting up an exploratory committee, I've been working the phones and meeting with people across the district to gauge support.
The response has been overwhelming. Nebraskans want an effective, independent voice standing up for the metro area in Congress. Instead of two more years of rubber-stamp representation, they want someone who isn't afraid to work with the President if it means creating good jobs, supporting service members and their families in our community, and getting our economy back on track.

Around the country, people are already beginning to take notice. The Omaha World-Herald said that the prospect of a race in District 2 is already gaining national attention. The D.C. newspaper Roll Call published a story about my email announcement and noted that Lee Terry appears "headed for a tough fight."
These positive press stories show we have the early momentum, but even more encouraging to me are all of the emails I've received from Nebraskans urging me to move forward with a race for Congress.
